In “The Love of Eternal Wisdom,” St. Louis Grignion de Montfort depicts the Eternal Wisdom of God before, during and after the incarnation, and generously provides us with the method of possessing and keeping him. After all, to assume to know everything about Jesus Christ incarnate Wisdom, and yet not really know him, is to know nothing at all.
When we were created as the living image of the Godhead, our body dignified with the perfection and likeness of Wisdom’s intelligence, we were gifted with the perpetual and resolute love of God in our heart. It was then the supremacy of the Eternal Wisdom to emancipate us from the slavery of the devil and to justify for us everlasting happiness after the fall.
Our means to acquire divine wisdom, according to St Louis, must begin by acquiring a sincere and holy desire for Wisdom, unwavering prayer performed in pure faith, an ardent practice of self-denial, and a loving and genuine devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
